Product Features 

The KB9862QB is a high-performance Embedded Controller (EC) and Keyboard Controller (KBC) IC developed by ENE Technology for notebook motherboards. It is provided in an industrial LQFP-128 (leaded surface-mount) package structure. It directly manages vital hardware-level processes on the motherboard, such as keyboard and touchpad inputs, system power sequencing, battery charge management, and thermal monitoring (fan control, temperature sensors). As part of ENE's advanced KB architecture, this hardware typically features an internal programmable eFlash (Embedded Flash) memory. Since the system may not trigger if the factory-default blank chip is installed, it may be a technical necessity during device repair to program it with the appropriate firmware for the specific motherboard via the JTAG / keyboard connector interface before or after assembly.
