The ISL88739BHRZ is a Hybrid Power Boost (HPB) battery charger IC with an SMBus interface, manufactured by Intersil (Renesas). It supports 2-, 3-, or 4-cell rechargeable batteries. Fully compliant with Intel PROCHOT# and PSYS requirements, this IC provides adapter current and battery discharging current monitoring. Featuring Intersil's Robust Ripple Regulator (R3) modulation scheme, it delivers excellent light-load efficiency and fast dynamic response. It uses N-channel MOSFETs (NFETs) for all the switches.
