The TPD8S300 is a single-chip USB Type-C port protection solution from Texas Instruments that provides 20 V Short-to-VBUS overvoltage protection on the CC and SBU pins, along with IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection. It makes the CC1, CC2, SBU1, and SBU2 pins tolerant up to 24 V DC against potential 20 V VBUS shorts caused by mechanical deformation in the USB Type-C connector or non-compliant adapters. It also provides IEC ESD protection for the SuperSpeed differential lines (DP_T, DM_T, DP_B, DM_B).
