The SY8388BRHC from Silergy is a high-efficiency synchronous step-down DC/DC regulator capable of delivering 8A of continuous current. It integrates a main switch and a synchronous switch with very low RDS(ON) values to minimize conduction losses. The device operates at a pseudo-constant frequency of 600kHz under heavy load conditions, allowing for the use of smaller inductors and capacitors. Additionally, the SY8388BRHC features a fixed 3.3V LDO with a 100mA current capability, which is ideal for powering external peripherals like keyboard controllers in notebooks. Operating over a wide input voltage range from 4.5V to 24V, it utilizes Silergy's proprietary Instant-PWM™ fast-response, constant-on-time (COT) control architecture to achieve fast transient responses. It is an ideal solution for high-power applications such as Notebooks, Set Top Boxes, and LCD-TVs.
