The RT8231AGQW is a synchronous PWM buck controller manufactured by Richtek that provides a complete power supply solution for DDR2, DDR3, DDR3L, LPDDR3, DDR4, and LPDDR4 memory systems. It integrates a high-efficiency PWM controller providing the main VDDQ voltage for motherboard RAM slots, a tracking linear regulator (VTT LDO) with a 1.5A sink/source capacity, and a buffered low-noise reference output (VTTREF). Thanks to its Constant On-Time control scheme, it offers an "instant-on" response capability to load transients within 100ns. Supporting sleep state controls such as S3, S4, and S5, this integrated circuit is widely used in the memory supply circuits of notebook computers. The main feature that distinguishes the RT8231A model from the RT8231B is that it performs VDDQ and VTT discharge control in "Tracking" mode.
