The RT6338CGQUF is a high-efficiency synchronous step-down (buck) converter designed by Richtek, capable of delivering up to 8A of output current. This specific version (RT6338C/CH) supports an input voltage range of 5.2V to 23V and provides a fixed 5.1V output voltage. Additionally, it integrates a 5V/100mA LDO for internal system requirements. It utilizes the Advanced Constant On-Time (ACOT) control architecture to provide ultra-fast transient response and reduce the external component count. By operating at a nearly constant switching frequency of 500kHz over line, load, and output voltage ranges, the ACOT architecture simplifies EMI filter design. At light loads, the device can operate in either Diode Emulation Mode (DEM) or Ultrasonic Mode (USM)—which keeps the frequency above 25kHz to avoid acoustic noise—via the EN/MODE pin.
