Product Features 

The APL5930 (APL5930KAI-TRG) is a 3A capacity ultra low dropout (LDO) linear regulator designed by ANPEC for systems requiring high-performance power management. This IC operates with a dual supply architecture to minimize power dissipation and provide an extremely low dropout voltage; it utilizes a control voltage VCNTL for the control circuitry and a main supply voltage VIN for power conversion. It delivers high efficiency by offering a typical dropout of just 0.23V at a 3A output current. With its adjustable output voltage structure (0.8V reference) and fast transient response features, it is ideal for circuits requiring precise voltage regulation. The built-in Power-On-Reset (POR) monitoring circuit prevents erroneous operations by monitoring both VCNTL and VIN pins. Additionally, it features current-limit, short circuit protection, and thermal shutdown with hysteresis for system safety. The exposed pad (open metal base) in the SOP-8P package structure ensures excellent thermal dissipation under high current, increasing stability.
