The ISL9238CHRTZ is a buck-boost Narrow VDC (NVDC) battery charger with an SMBus interface and USB OTG support, designed by Renesas Intersil for tablets, ultrabooks, notebooks, and USB-C interface portable devices. It supports charging for 2-, 3-, or 4-cell Li-ion batteries. Utilizing advanced Renesas R3 technology, it provides high light-load efficiency and fast transient response. For Intel IMVP8 compliant systems, it features a PSYS output that provides an analog signal representing total platform power, along with a PROCHOT# indicator. It supports ideal diode control in Turbo mode and reverse buck, boost, or buck-boost operation from the battery to the input port. It is available in a 32-pin TQFN package.
