Product Features 

The TPD6S300ARUKR is a single-chip USB Type-C port protection device developed by Texas Instruments. It provides 4 channels of Short-to-VBUS overvoltage protection (OVP) for the CC and SBU pins, safeguarding the system against 20V shorts that can occur due to the close proximity of pins in the Type-C connector or from non-compliant adaptors and cables. Although these pins normally operate at 5V or lower, the device ensures they are 24V DC tolerant, protecting them from mechanical twisting or moisture-induced shorts. Furthermore, it integrates 6 channels of IEC 61000-4-2 system-level ESD protection for the CC1, CC2, SBU1, SBU2, DP, and DM pins, eliminating the need for external high-voltage TVS diodes. It also features integrated RD (pull-down) resistors on the CC pins to enable charging even when the device's battery is completely dead and the system is unpowered.
