The Texas Instruments TPS2553DDBVR, TPS2553DDBVT is a power-distribution switch intended for applications where precision current limiting is required or where heavy capacitive loads and short circuits may be encountered. This device provides a programmable current-limit threshold between 75 mA and 1.7 A via an external resistor and can supply up to 1.5 A of continuous load current. The TPS2553D operates with an "Enable High" control logic and limits the output current to a safe level by using a constant-current mode when the output load exceeds the threshold. An internal reverse-voltage comparator disables the power-switch when the output voltage is driven higher than the input, thereby protecting devices on the input side of the switch. Additionally, the FAULT output asserts low during overcurrent and reverse-voltage conditions to alert the system.
