The RAA489110 from Renesas is a digitally configurable, high-efficiency buck-boost battery charger IC. It supports both Narrow Voltage Direct Charging (NVDC) and Hybrid Power Buck-Boost (HPBB) modes, dynamically switching between them via firmware control. Engineered for tablet, Ultrabook, and notebook platforms, it utilizes all N-channel MOSFETs for efficient power conversion. The advanced Renesas R3™ technology ensures an efficient charging mode. Its SMBus/I2C interface allows for extensive parameter programming, providing a flexible and customized solution for USB Type-C Power Delivery (PD) and Programmable Power Supply (PPS) ports.
